San Francisco, CA March 13, 2017– Vaco, a leading technology consulting firm, has acquired the managed services division of Binary Semantics, an India-based provider of large-scale outsourcing services. Together, the organizations will continue to support the world’s largest media companies in the areas of advertising & digital content creation, content sourcing, data and content curation, validation and verification, technology operations, software development, QA testing and machine learning & data analytics.
With more than 7,000 consultants across twelve countries, Vaco’s managed services practice includes IT consulting and project support, as well as more specialized outsourcing solutions for projects involving content, video and software development and testing. The acquisition of the managed services division of Binary Semantics, which makes up 90% of their total business, is an integral part of Vaco’s strategy to support clients’ international projects on an end-to-end basis.
“Large companies, especially in the Internet and media space, depend on cost-effective business process outsourcing (BPO) services to support their massive projects. Vaco and Binary Semantics are coming together to provide better support to these large conglomerates,” said Atul Bhave, Vaco partner. “When you combine a strong consultancy base and a cost-effective structure that supports rapid scalability and strong Quality processes, you emerge as a powerful competitor.”
Jim Jhanda, managing partner of Vaco’s managed services efforts said, “We are very excited to acquire a world-class leader in managed services, BPO and technology outsourcing services. This transition sharpens our focus on growing Vaco’s core managed services capabilities to a global scale and to accelerate future growth with our existing US clients with more of a global reach. We look forward to working with the excellent Binary Semantics management team to continue to invest in and grow the company.”
Based in India, Binary Semantics was founded in 1986. Since then, its team of more than 500 consultants has partnered with leading technology, manufacturing, media and hospitality organizations. Vaco strategically chose India, the third largest economy in the world, to launch its first physical overseas operation. Vaco can now service clients in the US and beyond 24 hours a day, eliminating the disruptions created by variations in time zones.
Vaco CEO Jerry Bostelman commented, “This acquisition is part of Vaco’s strategy to bring seamless and cost-effective contingent workforce management services to the world’s most innovative companies. As these organizations look outward for support in managing pieces of their workforce, Vaco is poised to serve as a trusted partner and advisor. With managed service operations both at home and now abroad, we intend to triple our consultant headcount by 2019.”
Akhil Choudhary, CEO of Binary Semantics, said, “Combining our offshore capabilities with those of Vaco provides a unique opportunity to streamline services through shortened scale up times and improved capabilities for business continuity across different geographies and around the clock operations across different time zones. We are excited by this new opportunity and look forward to serving clients in additional locations.”
