Vaco SF Team

MS Recruiter

Sam Gallu

What brought you to Vaco? What drew your interest?
An internal recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn one day as I was searching for jobs. I have only been able to find contract work in my chosen career field during the entire pandemic and was looking for something permanent in either HR/OD or recruiting. I always wanted to be involved in tech in some way, and being able to recruit for some big names in tech really drew me in.

Why should anyone choose Vaco SF for Managed Services/Contingent Workforce?
The SF office really practices what they preach. Not only do they find candidates for roles that they believe will fit in to the position and culture of their clients, but they also use the same standard when deciding to bring someone to work for them internally. They know themselves, and know what type of person to bring in.

What’s the toughest business decision that you’ve ever made at this point in your career? Explain.
More of a personal decision: I decided to move back to Omaha, NE after finishing graduate school on Long Island, only to find myself a year and a half later wanting to move back out to somewhere on the east coast after things in Omaha didn’t work out the way I wanted them to.

What’s the best thing about working at Vaco?
The opportunity to work remotely; the team that I get to collaborate with every day; being able to take care of personal business while also being trusted to complete my work on-time to an achievable standard.

Describe your work style.
I thrive in both autonomous and team settings. When breaking out alone, I take pride in doing my best to pay attention to detail and keep everything organized with all the tools I have access to at my disposal. When coming back to regroup with the team, I always have a notepad and paper and am receptive to feedback because I want to be better every day. I also ensure to reach out to candidates who may have not been offered a position that we submitted them for. They may have a shot later on down the line for another position, and if they hear back from me or anyone from Vaco about a potential opportunity, their initial experience with me may score us referrals as well as them continuing their job search with us.
