Senior Project Manager

Jim Pimentel

What brought you to Vaco? What drew your interest?

Vaco presented me a great opportunity that I couldn’t pass up. When the office recruited me, I felt they described the position clearly. The process of me coming to Vaco was seamless. What interested me in joining Vaco was the reputation it had: good company, fun company and great atmosphere to work in.

Why should anyone choose Vaco SF for Managed Services/Contingent Workforce?

Vaco is a one-stop shop. Because of the flexibility that Vaco provides, serving our managed-service agreement should make the decision to choose Vaco easy. Vaco provides outstanding service and can change direction very easy – without going through many layers of corporate infrastructure in order to change.

What’s the toughest business decision that you’ve ever made at this point in your career?

The toughest decision I made was leaving a long-standing career in journalism to become a full-time project manager. Although I had a lot of project management experience, it was still a change for me to dedicate my experience to a full-time role. It has worked out beautifully and I enjoy what I do everyday.

What’s the best thing about working at Vaco?

There are a lot of great reasons to work at Vaco. At the top of the list for me is I now work for a company that is progressive-thinking and not scared of change. Vaco’s flexibility to think “outside-the-box” makes my job much easier.

Describe your work style.

I am definitely a “hands-on” manager. I roll up my sleeves and will handle and complete any project when asked. I won’t lie – I am tough and making the deadline is the most important to me EVERY time. My strengths are process and follow-through.
