Job Description

Vaco is seeking discerning individuals plugged into internet technologies at the intersection of crisis, geopolitical and user harm issues. You will be working on the leading edge of fast-developing issues like the spread of misinformation and potential breaches in election integrity.

This is a vendor role with Vaco for a client’s team, a Fortune 100 company. This position is on-site at our North Austin location.

Candidates can expect a fast-paced, high-energy environment working on a team that delivers high-impact synthesis of culture-shifting trends. Successful candidates will be able to copy edit intel analysis following analytic and tradecraft standards to ensure analytic rigor and consistency across products. Strong writing and communication skills are essential for this position.

Schedule Requirements:

Monday to Friday, 9 am – 5 pm with 30 min lunch break (flexible schedule within business hours)
You may be asked to work outside of your core hours due to business necessity

Responsibilities

Synthesize multidimensional information and data sources clearly and concisely for different audiences
Revise written material to improve readability and clarity, as well as ensuring that text is free of grammatical and factual errors
Refine draft intel analysis to translate how global developments could cause potential adverse impact on our client’s users
Set quality assurance (QA) standards for analysts’ written work, provide thoughtful feedback in editing, and track analyst performance against QA standards
Conduct extensive research to ensure content is accurate and up-to-date
Adhere to analytic and tradecraft standards for intel writing

Minimum Qualifications

BA/BS Degree (Journalism, Editing, English/English Literature, Digital Media or related field)
Excellent writing skills in English. Synthesize the analysis of multi-dimensional data and information clearly and concisely for different audiences
2+ years customer service/client experience
Strong understanding and work-experience of international and geopolitical events and how they impact Global businesses and/or Relevant work experience in research based role
Fluency and experience in using Word/Excel/PPT or gSuite/ Google Workspace
Read, edit, and write content so that it is correct and understandable to the reader
Verify facts cited in material for publication
Work with the author to develop content in keeping with the publication's style and editorial policy
Proficiency with applying the principles of style guides, such as the Chicago Manual of Style, to different types of writing
Ability to remain detailed-oriented and focused when processing large amounts of text
Mastery of spelling, grammar and punctuation with ability to make constructive suggestions
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), with a proven ability to work successfully with cross-functional teams with senior stakeholder and executive visibility
Calm under pressure, with an ability to operate well in urgent, developing situations
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multitask
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Positive can do attitude
